Home Textiles, 2023

Home TexTILES, a custom kitchen tile design is based on a weaving pattern draft called Monk’s Belt. Drawn to the optical nature of this weave pattern, I applied the mathematical logic system to the tile design. Handwoven domestic textiles, like hand towels and bed covers consist of a 90 degree interlacement of threads that rely on structure for both integrity and pattern. Home TexTILES translates the interlacements of individual threads into an optical configuration of tiles that employ bold brights and more subtle hue gradations.

Textile Trivets, 2024 — Using the leftover tiles from the custom tile design above, I designed a series of trivets inspired by weave drafts. These were constructed by Sylvie Rosenthal.

Vaxxer T-shirt, December 2020

This t-shirt was inspired by my excitement for the coming Covid 19 vaccine. In anticipating our post-pandemic future, and thinking about how our culture is so often defined by what we are against, I wanted a way to express being for something. When we choose to be vaccinated, we are choosing to protect our friends, family, and neighbors, our teachers and our healthcare workers, we are choosing a world where schools are open, where restaurants and small businesses can thrive, where congregations can safely gather to worship, where audiences can cheer live music and theatre – we are choosing to protect our vibrant communities.

I hope you will get vaccinated and wear this garment proudly and stand behind your contribution to a healthy society. (inquire to purchase)

Vote, Make it a Pattern T-shirt, 2023

Voting never goes out of style! This design encourages us to take advantage of our ability as citizens to take repetitive action and vote in every election.
Enrich your wardrobe with a versatile long sleeve tee. For a casual look, combine it with your favorite jeans, and layer it with a button-up shirt, a zip-up hoodie, or a snazzy jacket. Dress it up with formal trousers or chinos to achieve a more professional look. (inquire to purchase)
